FAQs
-
We service Berkeley, Albany, Kensington, and El Cerrito.
-
Dogs must be social enough with people to be friendly with the walker. We may be able to walk dogs that are slow to warm up to strangers if the client will work with us to earn a spot in the dog’s circle of trusted people.
They must be comfortable with the walker touching them while getting them leashed up.
They must be able to walk on leash without excessive pulling in order to keep the walker and dog physically safe.
-
We require a scheduled meet and greet before starting walks.
You must provide us with two copies of your key. One copy will be with the walker and one will be in a locked safe in the office.
You must have a flat collar or harness and a standard six-foot leash in a place that is easily accessible to the walker. We follow a force-free philosophy and will not use prong, choke, or electronic collars.
-
Most of our clients choose to schedule their dogs for walks on a recurring schedule. We can sometimes accommodate intermittent walks, but you must contact us to schedule a meet and greet beforehand. We are not able to take same-day walk requests.
-
We ask that you give us a three-hour range in which you would like us to visit. When we arrive, we use the Time to Pet mobile app to check in, which starts a timer on the app. Unless we are explicitly told otherwise, we do not allow strangers (dogs or humans) to greet or pet our clients’ dogs. After the walk we offer the option for a quick visit report, which details if the dog went to the bathroom, if there were any accidents in the house, and a short note about how the walk went.
-
Absolutely not! All dogs are good dogs!
-
We do not offer overnight pet sits or boarding at this time. We offer drop-in pet sitting, which works well for cats, birds, reptiles, and other small animals that don’t mind having the house to themselves for most of the day.
-
We will arrive at your house to take care of your pet in the morning or afternoon, as specified by the client. During our visit, we will feed your pet, change their water, and clean their cage or litter. If there is time left after the essential tasks, we are happy to brush, pet, or play with them. We can also take care of other light household duties like watering plants, bringing mail and packages inside, and putting garbage cans out on the curb.
-
We use software called Time to Pet to schedule visits and handle invoices, and we schedule and bill monthly. Clients must set up a Time to Pet account, where they will be able to see their upcoming visits, view past and present invoices, and update information about their pet. We require clients to make automatic payments using account. Invoices are processed two days before the first service date.
-
For a full refund, you must cancel 24 hours before your scheduled visit. Holiday cancellations require one week of notice.
-
Yes. There is a holiday surcharge for services on New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. Recurring visits that would normally fall on these days will be automatically cancelled; please contact us if you would like to re-instate your visit with the additional holiday charge.
